PVR is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and riding of vintage motorcycles, on and off road. Our members have diverse backgrounds and interests from touring to trail riding, to motocross and observed trials. As long as you have an interest in motorcycles, especially vintage bikes, you are welcome.
We are a Virginia non-profit corporation and are governed by a Board of Directors. We elect officers annually and have monthly meetings open to all. Our members enjoy a whole list of benefits like: Free booth space at Will Stoner event, discount at club events, Pete's vast knowledge of CZs, Front row seats at the races to watch Brian O'Connor and Joe Kelly working on bikes, an invitation to Buz's Chili party, being able to give Bruce Sandground a hard time for never making an event, the ability to say "I belong to the club that Jack Seaver was a member of".
Immediate projects planned for our club include promotion of vintage motocross, vintage observed trials and vintage road events. Several members are closely affiliated with AHRMA racing and several belong to neighboring speciality clubs (Northern Virginia Trail Riders, Southern Maryland Dirt Riders, Western Maryland Motorcycle Association, etc.).
There are many things to consider when thinking of becoming involed in vintage racing and riding. Here are some things to help you get started in vintage racing/riding.
In addition to events, we maintain a computer e-mail list of all members which permits any member to immediately communicate with all other members to seek advice, alert them to a common problem, and promote local events. PVR gives you the opportunity to meet others with similar interests, and you'll be able to tap into an impressive pool of restoration resources.
